My problem is twofold. I am using the .NET connector with EntityFramework to do some manual SQL and am getting sporadic database connection errors. Here is my question on stackoverflow:

It was recommended to me that I upgrade my connector. Well I installed the Alpha connector and now I cannot select MySQL as a Data Source from within Visual Studio. Can anyone help me out??
