I see that MySql has a provider for Entity Framework Core, but it only supports .NET Core or Full .NET

Does anybody know if there is work being done for supporting UWP?
In other words, should I wait for it, or should I start writing my own data access using the standard connector for RT?
As far as I know these are my only two options. If anybody knows of any alternatives, I'd greatly appreciate it.
